Polygon zkEVM
Polygon launches an exciting new chapter in Ethereum's journey towards better scalability.
Exciting Times for Ethereum Scalability
Polygon launches an exciting new chapter in Ethereum's journey towards better scalability. Polygon, a prominent Ethereum scaling solution, has launched its zkEVM (Zero-Knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine) on the Ethereum mainnet, marking a significant milestone in the quest for improved performance and transaction throughput.
Milestones Made

Polygon launched the long-awaited mainnet for its new Polygon zkEVM network today, and to mark the occasion, the core developers of the sidechain invited Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin to send out the very first transaction—and he included a hidden message.
Charles Hoskinson also weighed in on the zkEVM launch
Blockchain developer and Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has reacted positively to the launch of an innovative network from the Polygon (MATIC) team, zkEVM. Congratulating the Polygon community, Hoskinson said it is really cool to see innovation like this in the crypto industry.
.@VitalikButerin did the symbolic first ever transaction on @0xPolygon #zkEVM and it has a message on it "Millions of constraints for man, unconstrained scalability for mankind" Goose bumps!!
Polygon zkEVM launch sees success with almost $1 million in total deposited funds in the first couple days as seen in the chart below.
What does this mean for Ethereum? Polygon's zkEVM utilizes zero-knowledge proof technology, a cryptographic method that allows for enhanced privacy and efficiency. By incorporating this approach, the zkEVM enables Polygon to process thousands of transactions per second while maintaining the network's security and decentralization using Ethereum’s network.
Polygon's zkEVM launch is a thrilling development for the Ethereum ecosystem, as it paves the way for projects to build and scale on the network with confidence. Developers can now take advantage of the zkEVM's impressive capabilities and design applications that seamlessly integrate with Ethereum's existing infrastructure, benefiting both end-users and the broader blockchain community.
Moreover, zkEVM promises to lower transaction fees, a much-needed respite for users who have been grappling with Ethereum's notorious gas fees. With this implementation, Ethereum becomes more accessible, allowing an even greater number of people to participate which is a prerequisite for mainstream adoption.
Immutable X Partners with Polygon
In an exciting step towards digital asset ownership and seamless web3 gaming, a strategic alliance has been formed between Immutable and Polygon. The alliance introduces Immutable zkEVM, a new EVM-compatible zk-rollup that harnesses Polygon's technology and Immutable's platform support. Designed to make web3-enabled game development quicker and easier, this technology will enable large and indie game studios to create high-quality games with true asset ownership. The partnership is set to bring mainstream adoption of web3 and digital ownership to millions worldwide, offering faster transaction speeds and reduced gas fees on the Ethereum blockchain. Players and developers can look forward to innovative gaming experiences and new developments in the coming months.
